Rainbow Warrior
This pattern is great. It's a flashy, weighted nymph that can quickly grab a fish's attention. I've used these as stand alone flies but they work very well with a small midge/caddis pattern trailing it. Get the fish moving and if they don't like it, they'll love the more natural fly coming right behind it!

Tying Intructions
1. Choose a thread color (I use black with purple tinsel and red with the flashabou/white tinsel) and make your jam knot. Make wraps to the hook point.
2. Tie in 2 pheasant tail quills. Clip off/wrap excess depending on what body size you want. Either way, work your way up then back down the hook to where you tied in the tail.
3. Tie in tinsel to be used for the body, move back up the hook, leave a hook eye or more of space between thread and hook eye for tying.
4. Wrap tinsel up the body, secure with a wrap or two and cut off excess.
5. Take a very small amount of your second color of tinsel and fold twice to form two loops of material. Tie in below the loops, then snip them in half to give the look of fresh wings or wing cases being opened.
6. Wrap a small amount of dubbing around the thread and tie in, make a thread collar behind the bead head, whip finish and your done!
